Some people are pretty attached to their game and I assume they will only act if a negative spotlight like that is on them. maybe they will finally act is someone kills themself or something. It certainly isn't fair and has caused a great deal of anxiety. Even if I get a new account, I won't get my prime tier back, and can't play other games that I paid for simple because I am punished for being a victim of hacking. They don't care once you have paid them money, and yes, CS:GO used to cost money.
When I asked them why not, they threatened to close any more requests to help with it. I asked them about it and they said they couldn't do anything. The second time they did it, they deleted all my emails from steam and by the time I got access to the account again, they had cheated and a few days after I got ym account back, a game ban came up, then a vac ban. What I didn't know is that the hacker had turned something called email forwarding on in the settings while they had control. I had my account hacked and stolen last year, but was able to get it back with no ill effect. I had used steam since the half life 2 days and loved playing CS:GO despite being pretty bad at it. It's not only a possibility, but happens all the time. If anyone has an insider at Valve that can help look into this I can share more specific detail about my account for an investigation.
